1. THE 1:1 SCALE VERIFICATION RULE
One of the most frequent errors in building mechanical block sets is using the wrong axle length. A V8 engine kit contains multiple black and gray axles that look identical but differ in length by just a few millimeters. Using a size 7 axle instead of a size 8 axle will result in gears that slip off their mountings later in the build.
